John Duer

John Duer is a seasoned leader and problem-solver focused on aligning the legal and compliance functions with Aspen’s business strategy and its execution. Prior to his current role at Aspen Power, John was the General Counsel of Safari Energy, LLC, prior to its acquisition by Aspen. Before that, he provided legal and managerial advice to companies in the energy and tech sectors for over 25 years, as general counsel to two energy companies, as chief operating officer for a health-tech company and as a partner with several global law firms.
John brings deep knowledge in domestic and cross-border energy, finance and M&A transactions. John started his career as a field artillery officer in the United States Army and holds degrees from the University of Miami School of Law, Boston University and Dartmouth College.
